Jawline - Face thinning

BOTOX TREATMENT

People's initial impression always is made by the shape of their faces. A sharp jawline may give a face the structure it needs while also making it appear stronger and healthier overall. A weaker and blunted-looking chin is caused by an overactive jaw muscle. Large jaw muscles are common in people with square jawlines... The muscles that run down the back of the jaw are used to chew and clench the teeth, and they might grow if they are tightened while sleeping. By clenching your teeth and experiencing a little bulge at the end of your jaw, you may feel these muscles. When you bite down, your jaw muscles seem nearly rock hard and swollen, which means you're an excellent candidate for this treatment.

Some of it is inherited. Some people's features never develop the well-defined jaw they desire, even when they are young and at a healthy weight. Others have a firm face shape, but as they age or gain weight, they lose that chiseled appearance. Botox decreases the size of the muscles injected, resulting in a smoother face shape. Botox can be injected directly into the jaw muscles of the face, slimming the overall facial contour into a little more "V"-like shape and accentuating the cheekbones.

People of Asian origin and those with broad mandibles are the most likely candidates for jawline slimming. This technique can also help with bruxism (teeth grinding), which is caused by an excess of pressure in highly developed jaw muscles. Fortunately, such therapy does not result in biting or chewing weakness. The nicest thing about Botox jawline recontouring is how quick and painless it is. Several injections into the underlying muscles surrounding the jawline will be given. As the Botox reaches the injection site, most people experience only a few seconds of moderate pain. For the first 24-48 hours following treatment, you should avoid exercising, leaning over, laying down, or massaging the region. This guarantees that the Botox stays where it's supposed to be and doesn't move.

While conventional Botox for the upper face works within seven to ten days of treatment, Botox injected into the masseter muscle takes around six weeks to show benefits, and the effects can persist anywhere from six months to a year. However, towards the end of the second week, you should notice that your jawline feels and looks softer. To fully recontour your jawline, you should have a second treatment six months after the initial injection.
